At our nursery, we provide a happy, inclusive, and enriching environment where every child feels valued and supported. Children are at the centre of everything we do, and we take pride in offering a broad and balanced curriculum that nurtures their curiosity and development through purposeful play. Activities include Music and Movement, Makaton during registration, Mindfulness and Meditation, physical exercises to build core strength, as well as Arts and Crafts and hands-on STEM learning using sustainable and recycled materials. Our continuous provision features clearly defined spaces filled with open-ended resources that encourage creativity, independence, and exploration.
We place a strong emphasis on Language and Communication, supporting children as they express themselves and interact meaningfully with their peers. Through shared activities and collaborative play, children build relationships, develop confidence, and learn the importance of cooperation and respect. We follow children's interests to guide their learning, ensuring each experience is relevant, engaging, and rooted in what fascinates them. British Values—such as mutual respect, tolerance, and democracy—are naturally embedded into our daily routines.
Our setting promotes strong partnerships with parents, recognising the importance of working together to support each child's learning journey. We regularly offer enriching experiences such as Science and Yoga workshops and actively participate in charity work to help children understand the value of giving back. With a warm, inclusive ethos and a commitment to celebrating diversity, our nursery is a place where children are happy, engaged, and inspired to thrive.
Rooms & Facilities
Food
Our meals are coming from Zebedee's Lunch Box. All of their dishes are freshly prepared on the day of delivery and contain only high quality, fresh ingredients. Their menus provide the essential food groups and meet the dietary needs of growing children. The menus include plenty of fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and organic pulses. All food is baked, braised, steamed or boiled and they do not serve any deep fried items also use low salt products wherever possible.
The menus are designed with health in mind, however, they are also committed to cultivating enjoyment of a variety of tastes in young people, which contributes to a balanced diet in later life. As well as traditional fare, the menus include more inventive dishes, created by chefs to introduce new flavours to the children. They do 'Around the World' theme day, which features every 3 weeks on the menu, presents authentic dishes from around the world and can be used as a tool for teaching children about different cuisines and cultures.
We also take care of each child's individual dietary requirement whether it is for cultural, religious or it is a dietary intolerance. During your time at Acton Day Nursery & Pre-school please feel free to discuss any dietary requirements with us.

What is it like to attend this early years setting?
The provision is good Children are happy and safe in this warm, nurturing environment. Staff form strong relationships with children and interact with them in calm, engaging tones. Staff get down to the children's level and listen carefully to what they say, demonstrating to children that their views are important to them. Staff understand children's individual needs and how to meet them. They carefully consider how to use children's interests to support them to achieve the next steps in their learning. For example, children show an interest in volcanoes as they play. Staff then develop children's understanding by supporting them to make volcanoes out of bicarbonate of soda and water. Staff talk about the 'lava' and 'ash', helping children to understand this vocabulary. This helps children to make good progress while enjoying their learning. Staff support children well to understand positive behaviours. They praise children warmly, offering specific praise. For example, when children use scissors, staff praise them for how careful they are being with the scissors. This helps children to feel proud of their achievements. Children learn to care for their physical health and well-being. Staff model how to brush teeth as children brush their teeth after snack time. They teach children about the importance of personal hygiene. Children wash their hands well at appropriate times throughout the day. This helps children to develop their self-care skills.
