Settling In
We would love to welcome you to come along to your child's first settling-in session, so you can be with them while they get used to their new surroundings.
You'll meet your child's key person, too, and see how they interact with them, the rest of the team, and the other children in the nursery. You can continue with a series of short sessions, each time leaving your child for slightly longer as they build their confidence, until they're ready to start.
Our "All About Me" form will help us to set up the environment and what to focus on for their settling-in sessions, it will help us to consider their needs and provide activities based on their interests straight away. Your child will get to participate in our planned activities, singing and story time, snack time and lots of cuddles and reassurance.
When you collect your child, they will be brought to you at the main entrance. we will give you feedback about their first day; they may be excited or they may begin to cry, both are completely normal. We accept that this will be challenging for you; we respect how difficult it is for everyone who goes through this. We can reassure you that their confidence will grow each day, ultimately teaching your little one that leaving you and attending nursery is fun!
We can offer advice and guidance, and can discuss any concerns you may have about your child starting nursery or moving from room to room and on to school.
